Sewing Basics: Throw Pillow Cover Workshop with Made
Discover the joy of sewing in this beginner-friendly workshop designed for those new to using a sewing machine. This hands-on session will teach you the basics, including how to set up and operate a sewing machine and troubleshoot common issues. You'll also learn foundational sewing techniques like straight stitching, measuring fabric, and finishing edges.
By the end of the class, you’ll put your new skills to work by creating your very own custom pillowcase to take home. No prior sewing experience is needed – just your enthusiasm to learn!
BYOB - Here's a list of items to bring to the workshop:
- At least 20"x20" piece of fabric for the front of your pillow. You can cut it to size prior or during the workshop.
- Sewing machine (Limited number of sewing machines can be made available if you do not have one. Please reach out if you are not able to secure a sewing machine to bring with you)
- Basic sewing tools: scissors, straight pins, measuring tape or seam ruler, cream thread, bobbin, Jean sewing machine needle

- Cream canvas backing
- 20”x20” pillow insert
